Canadian Drone Specialists Acquire South-Western Survey firm Casado Design

A NASDAQ-listed Canadian drone company has acquired a South West England survey and design firm, marking a significant expansion into the UK market.

ZenaTech, Inc., which specialises in AI-driven drones, Drone as a Service (DaaS), enterprise SaaS, and Quantum Computing, has purchased Casado Design Ltd. The company provides 3D modelling and scanning services for telecom tower and infrastructure projects.

The acquisition represents ZenaTech’s entry into the UK Drone as a Service market and extends its operations into telecom infrastructure, a sector undergoing considerable investment and modernization across the UK and Europe.

Shaun Passley, CEO of ZenaTech, said: “Acquiring Casado Design is an important milestone expanding our Drone as a Service footprint to the UK and to the doorstep of Europe. Importantly, it adds a new vertical to our network in a rapidly growing sector.

“Their strong foothold in telecom infrastructure perfectly complements our AI-driven drone capabilities enabling delivery of safer, faster, and more cost-effective telecom infrastructure building.

“As telecom networks undergo unprecedented transformation with 5G infrastructure modernization and greater cost controls, the integration of advanced, drone-based 3D modeling and scanning solutions positions us delivering faster and more precise tower infrastructure solutions while enhancing safety standards.”

Casado Design, founded in 2010 in Weston-super-Mare near Bristol, has established long-term relationships with major telecom operators and tower clients across England. The company provides comprehensive design services covering the full lifecycle of telecom infrastructure, from construction and upgrades to decommissioning.
