ID Logistics expands UK presence with new Kent warehouse

ID Logistics has secured a major new warehouse in Kent, marking the company’s third UK facility and reinforcing its long-term commitment to the market.

The international logistics and transport operator has signed a lease for the 440,000 sq ft Building S440 at Panattoni Park Sittingbourne. The site will support operations for a key ecommerce client, with fit-out work now underway.

Stuart Evans, UK managing director at ID Logistics, said: “The UK is one of the most dynamic markets in Europe and our rapid growth here reflects our ability to deliver agile, customer-focused logistics solutions. This new contract and the launch of our Sittingbourne site underline the company’s long-term commitment to the UK and our confidence in its continued potential.

“We’re thrilled to be expanding our network with this new state-of-the-art facility in Sittingbourne. It will enable us to support our customer’s growth while also creating new employment opportunities and strengthening our operational excellence in the ecommerce sector.”

Panattoni Park Sittingbourne also hosts a 205,000 sq ft unit as part of its first phase. In addition, Phase 2 recently saw completion of a 58,000 sq ft bespoke facility for DPD.

Alex Mitchell, associate development director for South East and London at Panattoni UK, said: “Securing ID Logistics and DPD sends out a very positive message, not only about the quality of the developments we deliver, but also about Kent as a location for logistics and development businesses.

“There remains significant demand for large, high-quality space across the South East that’s ready for occupation. Commercial demand for our parks at Aylesford and Sittingbourne has been strong. It has recently led us to acquire a vacant 70-acre brownfield site at Lenham, near Maidstone, and take it through the planning process and promote it to the marketplace.”

Savills, CBRE and Avison Young acted as joint agents on the Sittingbourne scheme.
