Kent-based event production specialist Eclipse has been sold to Chicago-headquartered global events and technology firm Encore, marking a major step in the company’s growth.
Founded in 1988, Eclipse is renowned for its production expertise, scenic services, and in-house creative capabilities. The acquisition will strengthen Encore’s presence in the UK and expand its creative and technical offering.
Robin Purslow, Eclipse chief executive and shareholder, said: “Joining forces with Encore enables us to scale our creative and technical offering while preserving the culture, craft, and client relationships that define our business. This transaction marks an exciting new chapter for Eclipse.”
Encore, which produces over 400,000 events annually worldwide, described the deal as a strategic move to invest in key UK markets. COO Dustin Worley added: “Eclipse has an outstanding reputation for technical excellence and creative delivery. Bringing their talent and expertise into the Encore group strengthens our UK platform and the solutions we provide to clients globally.”
EMC Corporate Finance acted as lead adviser to the Eclipse shareholders, with partners Michael Pay and Michael Gibbs guiding the process. Pay said: “It was a privilege to support Robin and the shareholder team through this milestone. Encore is an excellent strategic home for Eclipse, and I look forward to seeing the business flourish as part of a global leader.”
Legal and financial advisers on the transaction included Thackray Williams, Clyde & Co, and S&W Partners.
