Brighton Marina is in for a finger lickin’ launch, as KFC gear up to open the doors of a brand-new restaurant at the Marina, taking over the former Pizza Hut unit.
Opening on Monday 14th September, the restaurant will serve up KFC’s full menu of fried chicken favourites, alongside the newly launched Tenders & Dips range. Customers will also enjoy the full Kwench by KFC range, from Strawberry Shortcake Krunch shakes to Cherry Boba Refresher, Sparkling Lemonades, Iced Coffee and Matchas – giving customers even more reasons to visit throughout the day.
The new restaurant seats 112 guests and features digital ordering kiosks for those wanting to grab and go. The restaurant offers dine-in, click and collect and delivery via Just Eat, Deliveroo and Uber Eats, with a dedicated area for delivery drivers.
The restaurant will be operated by K&Z, a multi-brand Franchise operator with a growing portfolio of KFC restaurants across South London and the South Coast. A partner with KFC for the last 20 years, K&Z has a strong track record of investing in its team members and new restaurants, with Brighton Marina marking its latest expansion along the coast.
The opening has created 30 new jobs in the local community across Team Member, Team Leader and management roles, vacancies can be found on ww.kfc.co.uk for those wanting to join the coop*. The team have spent recent weeks in training and are ready to welcome their first customers on opening day.
As part of a commitment to being a good neighbour in the local community, the Brighton Marina team will take part in regular litter picks along the boardwalk and seafront to help keep the area clean and tidy and will donate surplus food to community kitchens through KFC’s partnership with The Felix Project.
The new restaurant forms part of KFC’s £1.5 billion UK and Ireland growth plan, a commitment announced as part of its 60-year celebrations. The investment will support new restaurant openings, upgrades to existing restaurants and the creation of more than 7,000 jobs across KFC and its supply chain. Alongside this, KFC has set out an ambition to open 500 new restaurants across the UK and Ireland over the next decade.
Louise Taylor, Centre Director at Brighton Marina, commented: “We are delighted to welcome such a well-loved brand to Brighton Marina. KFC’s arrival strengthens our grab-and-go food offering, providing guests with even more choices while visiting. We look forward to seeing the venue open its doors next week.”
Andy Goves, Franchisee Business Leader at KFC UK&I, said “It’s fantastic to be opening our newest restaurant at Brighton Marina. It’s a great location and an important part of our plans to grow across the UK, invest in new restaurants and create local jobs. We’re delighted to be doing this with K&Z, one of our long-standing franchise partners, and look forward to welcoming customers.”
Sarah Puleston, Head of People & Culture at K&Z, said: “Opening KFC Brighton Marina means more than 30 new local job opportunities for people to build a real career with K&Z and KFC, whether that’s their first job or their next step into a team leader or management role. It’s also a restaurant with real character: we’ve carried our love of local touches through into the design, from the rainbow bolo tie at our Western Road restaurant to a nod to the Marina itself here. We can’t wait for customers to see it.”
Shahaz Nanji, K&Z Owner and Franchisee, said: “Brighton Marina is a fantastic addition to our growing KFC portfolio along the South Coast. Our team have worked incredibly hard to get this restaurant ready, and I couldn’t be prouder of what they’ve built together. We’re looking forward to becoming part of the local community here and serving Brighton for years to come.”
