South East accountancy firm StarBox has played a key role in the sale of The Fellas Studio, a Gen Z-focused podcast production company, to British media giant Global Media & Entertainment.
Founded in 2020 by YouTubers Callum Airey (Calfreezy) and Joshua Larkin (TheBurntChip), The Fellas Studio produces popular podcasts including Saving Grace with Loose Women and I’m a Celebrity… star GK Barry, as well as Growing Paynes with Behzinga and Faith Kelly. The studio is the UK’s first creator-led podcast production house and will now be integrated into Global’s new division, Global Studios.
Nick Tebb, partner at StarBox in Worthing, said: “This deal is a fantastic milestone for the StarBox team and is testament to the talent and drive of the founders of The Fellas Studio and our close working relationship with them. For 12 years, we’ve been immersing ourselves in this fast-paced and unique sector, honing our skills.”
Tebb highlighted the firm’s blend of corporate finance and sector expertise, including due diligence, contract negotiations, and business planning, tailored to content creators and influencers. StarBox founder Sam Uwins, who has worked with The Fellas Studio for many years, added: “These guys are so talented and energetic. They’re achieving phenomenal results, and we’re proud to be working with them.”
Airey, chief executive of The Fellas Studio, said: “With Global sharing our ambition and drive, and with StarBox providing us with invaluable advice and support, we are confident about what lies ahead.” Larkin, chief creative officer, added: “Partnering with Global gives us the scale, resources, and expertise to take our work to the next level.”
StarBox, part of the Carpenter Box group, works with around 500 UK content creators, social influencers, app and game developers, production studios, musicians, actors, and professional athletes, providing tailored financial, tax, and business advice.
