Snowdrop House Montessori Nursery Group, which includes two nurseries in Haywards Heath, West Sussex, has joined the expanding portfolio of Happy Days Nurseries across the South of England.
The group provides full-day care for up to 165 children from birth to five years. Primrose House on Franklyn Road opened in 2010, followed by Snowdrop House in Franklands Village in 2019. Founders Carole Anne Benson and Roy Benson have extensive experience in the nursery sector.
Sophie Willcox at property adviser Christie & Co managed the sale of both nurseries to Happy Days Nurseries, which now operates 39 settings. The sale completes the Bensons’ series of five disposals as they prepare to retire.
Kim Herbert, chief executive at Happy Days Nurseries, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Snowdrop House Montessori Nursery Group into the Happy Days family. Their high-quality care and education complement our own vision of giving every child the best start in life. We look forward to spending time in our new nurseries, getting to know our new colleagues and families, and learning more about their communities.”
Sophie Willcox, director – childcare and education at Christie & Co, added: “We received several offers from a range of well-funded buyers, and I am delighted that they have found the right buyer to carry on their legacy. I wasn’t surprised by the significant interest we received – the nurseries have such a strong reputation, desirable locations, and a dedicated staff team.
“Carole Anne and Roy are very good at what they do, and this is reflected in the level of interest we received for the settings. This is the fourth completion we have had this month in the South, highlighting the continued demand for high-quality nursery businesses across the region.”
