Broad Arrow Auctions, driven by Hagerty (NYSE: HGTY), is proud to present Global Icons: Winter Memorabilia and Artwork, an online sale of over 300 lots carefully curated to offer collectors and enthusiasts a unique opportunity to acquire rare and evocative pieces that capture the spirit, history, and artistry of motorsport.
Launching Monday, 9 November the sale showcases an exceptional selection of motorsports memorabilia and a distinguished offering of motorsports artwork, including a number of very special lots celebrating the life of James Hunt.
British Formula One racing driver Hunt competed from 1973 to 1979 and won the 1976 Formula One World Championship with McLaren. He achieved 10 Grand Prix victories during his career and was known for his charismatic personality and aggressive driving style, becoming one of Formula One’s most recognisable figures before retiring from racing in 1979.
Saturday marks 50 years since Hunt finished 3rd at the Japanese Grand Prix on October 24, 1976, at a wet Fuji Speedway, a result that was enough for him to famously win the 1976 Formula 1 World Championship by just one point over his rival Niki Lauda.
“Our latest memorabilia sale is packed with lots sure to entice any motorsport enthusiast,” said Matt Coles, Memorabilia Specialist for Broad Arrow Auctions. “We are delighted to offer some very special pieces of James Hunt history on the anniversary of his spectacular 1976 Championship win. There are many heroes of motorsport, but Hunt is one of the most recognised and loved characters of the sport, from an era of the like we will never see again.”
James Hunt items included in Broad Arrow’s latest online auction includes:
Three 1968 James Hunt Original Trophies (Estimate: €6.000 – €8.000 | Offered without reserve)

Long before his Formula 1 World Championship, Hunt was already establishing himself as a fearless and charismatic competitor, renowned for his raw speed and uncompromising racing style.
Together, these trophies offer a rare glimpse into the formative years of one of motorsport’s most iconic drivers, each carrying a direct connection to Hunt’s early racing career.
