Deliveroo has unveiled the most popular Halloween treats with a few surprising highlights.
It’s the first Saturday Halloween since lockdown¹² and Deliveroo is uncovering Halloween order trends for a spooky peek at what could be delivered to doorsteps across the nation again this year.
Top 10 most popular Halloween orders in the UK
You heard it from us first – Deliveroo reveals the top 10 most popular Halloween orders for 2026¹, and it’s not as straightforward as pick n mix…
- Haribo Sharing Bag
- Strawberries
- Cadbury Dairy Milk
- Walkers crisps
- Swizzels
- Pumpkins
- Nuts and raisins
- Maoam
- Doritos
- Maltesers
Whilst Haribo took the top spot, with chewy, sharing-size bags perfect for doorstep bowls; strawberries came in at second with customers opting for something fresher. Meanwhile, trick or treaters with a savoury tooth opted for Walkers crisps and Doritos. Carving pumpkins were the biggest riser, up by about a quarter in comparison to 2024⁵, with locals opting to order to their doors rather than lugging them home; whilst nuts and raisins made a scary entry in seventh for the health-conscious parents.
Spooky Scramble
Halloween is the one night of the year when panic buying comes out to play. Across the nation, half of all Halloween day essentials were ordered by just after 3pm⁶, with a mad dash between 4pm and 5pm and almost a third of orders still landing after 5pm as after-school trick-or-treating began. York, Cambridge and London were the least organised cities, with over a third of their orders landing after 5pm⁷.
Pumpkins were the most popular Halloween decoration essential ordered across the UK, with two in five ordered in the final two days before the big boo⁸. Nottingham led the way for last-minute carvers, with over half of its pumpkins delivered to Robin Hood’s home city in that time, followed by Edinburgh, London, Cardiff and Bournemouth. Glasgow, Sheffield and Leicester⁹ topped the table for ordering sweets in the two hours before trick-or-treating.
At the other end of the scale, Bournemouth, Cardiff and Aberdeen¹⁰ were the most organised, stocking up on sweets well before the big night.
Suzy McClintock, VP Consumer at Deliveroo, said: ‘Halloween on a Saturday changes everything. Last year the rush started when the school bell went; this year we expect it to start earlier and build throughout the day with parties as well as trick-or-treaters making the most of the moment. Whether it’s a carving pumpkin, snacks for the party, a sharing bag of sweets or even a costume, Deliveroo can bring everything you need from your local shops to your doorstep in minutes.”
London Calling for Fruit and Nuts
Despite sweets and chocolate being most traditional for Halloween, some Deliveroo customers are bucking the trend. Meet the most ‘almond’ cities in the UK: London, Cambridge, Aberdeen, Oxford and Edinburgh. Their baskets are full of almonds, raisins and sultanas, cashews and walnuts, topped up with strawberries, bananas and blueberries. On Halloween last year, nut orders in Oxford rose by nearly half compared with the week before.¹¹
Picky Bits
Savoury treats got a look in too. Edinburgh, Brighton, Oxford, Cambridge and York are the UK’s picky bits capitals, with houmous, dips, sausage rolls and pickled onion Monster Munch topping the list. On Halloween, picky bits rose by almost 20% in Edinburgh.⁴
Whether you are planning to host a Halloween party, fill your bowl with sweets or savoury for the trick-or-treaters, or have a cosy night in and not open the door, Deliveroo is on hand no matter how you plan to celebrate the moment.
