As today marks World Pharmacists Day, we are delighted to announce that Trust pharmacist Yung Strawbridge has been appointed as a Royal College of Pharmacy (RCP) ambassador for the south west.
Yung is the Trust’s lead education and patient group directions (PGDs) pharmacist and will be 1 of 2 pharmacist ambassadors representing the region. Yung joins Abigail Wilson, Director of Pharmacy at WithYou, as one of the south west’s newly appointed pharmacist ambassadors.
In her ambassador role, Yung will work closely with the Royal College of Pharmacy’s Professional Engagement Team to support regional events, strengthen professional engagement, and foster collaboration across the wider healthcare community throughout the south west.
Speaking about her appointment, Yung said:
“I am excited and privileged to have been appointed as a Royal College of Pharmacy Ambassador for the south west. In this role, I will work closely with the Royal College of Pharmacy’s Professional Engagement Team, supporting regional events and engaging with colleagues across the wider healthcare community. I look forward to meeting and working with pharmacy professionals and healthcare colleagues from across the region.”

The appointment follows a particularly significant period in Yung’s professional journey. Last week, she was invited to be a keynote speaker at the national Royal College of Pharmacy Evolving Threads event, held as part of East and South East Asian (ESEA) Heritage Month. The event brings together professionals to share their experiences, insights, and personal journeys.
During her keynote address, Yung reflected on her career journey, her Vietnamese heritage, and the important work taking place within the Trust.
She said:
“It was an honour to be invited as a keynote speaker and to share my story. As a proud Vietnamese pharmacist, the opportunity to contribute to this celebration of heritage, identity, and belonging meant a great deal to me. I am proud of the work we do within the Trust and grateful to be part of an amazing team that values, supports, and celebrates cultural diversity.”
Throughout her career, Yung has developed extensive expertise in education, workforce development, medicines management, and Patient Group Directions (PGDs), making a significant contribution to both pharmacy practice and professional development across the organisation.
