Developer Lovell Unveils Plans For 60 New Homes In Purton Near Swindon

Leading developer Lovell has acquired land off Pavenhill in Purton, on the outskirts of Swindon, and is working on proposals to deliver a total of 60 mixed tenure homes in the village.

The development, located on land formerly part of South Pavenhill Farm and approximately five hectares in size, will feature 36 open market and 24 affordable homes, 14 of which will be available for Affordable Rent and 10 for Shared Ownership.

The new homes will consist of a diverse mix of house styles, including two, three and four-bedroom open market homes which have been carefully designed with modern, family lifestyles in mind.

One, two, three and four-bedroom Affordable Rent properties and two and three-bedroom Shared Ownership homes will complete the development, catering to all homeseekers and providing accessible routes onto the property ladder.

Lovell will also be delivering public open space, a community orchard and multiple play areas, leading to the creation of a vibrant and sustainable community. To enhance biodiversity, new trees and hedgerows will also be planted across the site and the majority of existing greenery will be retained.

Outline planning approval has already been granted for the development and Lovell is now preparing the reserved matters planning application, which will confirm the details of the scheme and is due to be submitted in summer.

Prior to submission, a community information event will be held on Wednesday 3rd June, allowing the local community to explore the proposals and meet with the project team.

Construction work on the development is expected to start in spring 2027 and complete at the end of 2028, subject to planning approval, with the first residents set to move in at the end of 2027. The doors to two showhomes, a three-bedroom Lansdown and a four-bedroom Redbourne, are also due to open late 2027.
