Tesco is introducing new virtual try-on technology for the first time, as part of a trial at its Sandhurst Extra store. The store will have also have a newly refreshed F&F Clothing service hub designed to give customers more ways to discover the latest styles with confidence.
The new in-store experience will allow customers to virtually try on around 1,500 items of F&F clothing across womenswear and menswear by taking a photo or uploading a photo of themselves onto a digital try-on screen in the clothing department, or selecting a digital model to view clothes in different sizes. The trial is designed to understand how Tesco can help customers browsing in store to discover new styles and feel more confident before they buy.
The virtual try-on screen forms part of a wider F&F refresh at Sandhurst Extra, which includes new changing rooms and a dedicated service hub for easier checking out and returns. Customers will also see a larger F&F range in store and a refreshed look and feel with new signage, updated lighting and a focus on showcasing the F&F range across womenswear, menswear and childrenswear.

The trial comes as Tesco announces the expansion of its online fashion offer, following its successful launch last year. Customers can now shop hundreds of additional styles, more sizes, and online-exclusive ranges, while improved search tools, curated styling inspiration and fashion-led imagery makes it easier than ever for customers to discover and shop the latest collections in the way that suits them best.
Across Home and everyday essentials, work has also taken place to offer new homeware displays and clearer signage. This was based on customer insight into how customers want to shop for the products they need most, aligning F&F Home with the wider F&F clothing brand.
These changes also form part of the wider refurbishment at Sandhurst Extra, with customers also benefitting from a range of improvements across the store, including:
- An improved Food To Go area with a wide range of Meal Deal options.
- A larger Fresh Market section offering fruit and vegetables in an easily accessible location.
- A refreshed Bakery, with a bread slicer for customer use.
- New and improved ranges across homeware, flowers and plants, beers, wines and spirits, Pets, Free From, Health, Beauty & Wellness.
- A new Holland & Barrett shop within a shop.
- New, energy-saving fridges and freezers.
- Refurbishment of lifts and escalators.
