Škoda is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Octavia with two special editions. Created to mark three decades of one of Škoda’s most iconic nameplates, the new models will deliver a fitting tribute to one of the brand’s most successful cars. The Octavia Edition 30 and Octavia vRS Plus combine high standard specifications and exclusive design features that further maximise the Octavia’s acclaimed value for money.
Leading the celebrations is the new Edition 30, which delivers a specially curated specification list that maximises value for money. Available with three engine options: 1.5 TSI eTEC 116 PS DSG, 1.5 TSI eTEC 150 PS DSG and 2.0 TDI 150 PS DSG, the Edition 30 features 17-inch Aries silver alloy wheels, Lodge Design Selection and exclusive Edition 30 badging. Customers also benefit from privacy glass on the rear windows, rear view camera and adaptive cruise control as standard. Positioned between SE Technology and SE L trim grades in the current line-up, the new Edition 30 will be available in both Hatch and Estate forms.
Joining the Edition 30 in the brand’s celebrations is the new Octavia vRS Plus. Recognising the significant impact the vRS model has made since its introduction to the Octavia range, the vRS Plus comes with CANTON sound system and Exclusive Paint – options that would normally cost £1,585 if chosen on the standard vRS model. Enhancing the exclusivity of the vRS Plus, customers will be able to spec their cars in Tangerine Orange or Cosmic Green – two all-new colours reserved specifically for the Plus. Royal Green and Dragon Skin – which are already available to vRS customers – can also be specified.
The vRS Plus features the same acclaimed 2.0 TSI drivetrain as the standard model which develops 265 PS and drives through a standard seven-speed DSG transmission. Highlights of the specification include Full LED Matrix headlights, vRS Design Selection interior with heated sports front seats and a three-spoke leather sports multi-function steering wheel with paddles for DSG.
Since its introduction into the range in 2001, the modern-era Octavia has been a huge success for the brand. Re-imagining a classic Škoda nameplate from 1959, the 2001 Octavia stayed true to its roots by offering intelligent design, comfort and outstanding value for money.
Through four generations, the Octavia has proved itself to be one of the most adaptable and practical cars on the market. It has set World Land Speed Records, been transformed into a title-winning rally car and has become one of the most trusted cars used by our emergency services. Three decades after its launch, the Octavia remains Škoda’s top-seller worldwide, with almost 7.9 million having been produced during its production run to date.
