INSPIRED by the natural beauty of the surrounding Somerset landscape, a stunning new show home is wowing visitors.
Edenstone recently opened the doors to a professionally styled and fully furnished example of the four-bedroom detached Burford at its Underwood Gardens development in Watchet.
The verdict from visitors is that both the location of the homes and the show home are stunning.
Experts from Dapa Atelier, who dressed the show home, have revealed that the styling was inspired by the local landscape.
Louise Sellar, sales and marketing director at Dapa, explained: “When designing the beautiful four-bedroom show home in Watchet we were inspired by the natural surroundings including nearby Helwell Bay, commonly known as the Fossil Beach. We wanted to create a scheme that reflected the tranquillity, textures and colours of the coastal landscape. We drew inspiration from the soft tones of the shoreline and sea, incorporating a calming palette of marina blue and soft sand to bring a sense of serenity and understated elegance throughout the interiors.”
Many of the homes being built by Edenstone in Watchet enjoy views of the Quantock Hills, England’s first designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Its ancient woodlands also played a significant role in shaping the design direction and colour palette.
“The beauty and richness of the surrounding landscape inspired the botanical influences within the scheme, from the use of a gentle sage green accent colour to the warmth and character of natural oak furniture finishes,” Louise said.
“The aim was to create a home that feels deeply connected to its setting; a space that is calm, welcoming and timeless, while still feeling refined and elegant. By layering natural textures, organic tones and carefully selected materials, we created a cosy yet sophisticated family home that celebrates the beauty of both the coast and countryside that surrounds it.”
A thoughtfully designed double fronted home, the Burford features a study on one side of the hallway, with an inviting lounge on the opposite side.
French doors leading from the open plan kitchen, dining and family room to the rear garden offer lots of natural light, emphasising the spaciousness of this multifunctional room.
Upstairs there are four bedrooms, plus the family bathroom. The main bedroom has a dressing area and an en-suite.
A Burford, like the show home is available from £462,995.
